Our Story

Al Perrotta is the proud owner and operator of PURE ICE. He was born in Staten Island, NY, and spent most of his youth growing up in NJ until he moved to Florida in 1979. In 1985 met his wonderful wife, and they raised their family in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He spent the last 35 years putting a badge over his heart and strapping on a bulletproof vest to protect and serve the citizens of Volusia County, Florida. He began his career as a New Smyrna Beach police officer in 1984 until he joined the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office in 1989. For the following 30 years, he worked as a Patrol Deputy, Crime Suppression Team member, Patrol Sergeant, and as a 25 year SWAT team member.

In 2019 he retired from law enforcement and began looking for a new direction. His new venture focuses on the cleaning and sanitizing of commercial-grade ice machines. The pride and attention to detail that he has applied throughout his career in law enforcement is now expressed in the services provided for both businesses and public entities within the local community he loves so much. With those attributes in mind, Pure Ice prides itself to ensure each ice machine is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized while treating each customer with respect and honesty. He has cleaned many machines throughout the states of Florida and Georgia. He has learned and perfected the most effective techniques to ensure each machine is fully cleaned and is operating at top efficiency. He is happy to provide his services to any establishment with commercial ice machines to keep them clean, sanitized, and producing PURE ICE.
